River Dee Fishing Season off to a Bumper Start

Salmon Fishing on the River Dee has got off to bumper start with 325 fish for the month of February. Also, as reported in the Guardian newspaper at the weekend, bookings are up by 25% on this time last year which is good news for tourism in Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms.

The first day of the season was opened by Clive Anderson on 2 February and over 200 guests lined the river bank at the Potarch Hotel and enjoyed hot soup, coffee and a dram courtesy of Royal Lochnagar Distillery and the Hotel. Clive Anderson himself was in fine form, delivering a suitably dry and witty speech whilst knee deep in the icy water and blustery snow.
