Horse Riding & Pony Trekking in Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park

Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms is often best seen and enjoyed on horseback as bridal paths and trails take you into peaceful and beautiful parts of our area that many people never reach on two legs. Whether its horse riding or the more informal pony trekking activities you are after, we will be pleased to hear from you and make you most welcome on your visit. 

Glen Tanar Equestrian Centre, near Aboyne, offers safe, quality riding along riverside, woodland and mountain trails. One hour rides take you round the loch, into the Ancient Wood of Caledon, along and through the Water of Tanar. Two hour rides pass through the river and woodland up into the mountains to enjoy spectacular views. The pony trecking can take place in stunning scenery! 

A range of ponies and horses and qualified, friendly staff ensure memorable riding for children and adults. Options include -

- Exciting hacks for experienced riders.

- Safe, gentle treks for the novice.

- Private or class lessons with professional tuition on well-schooled mounts.
